David A. Mihachik, Sr.

Chichester, NH — David A. Mihachik, Sr. 74, of Chichester, passed away on Friday, October 29, 2021 at Concord Hospital following a period of declining health.

Born on July 3, 1947 in Concord, he was the son of the late Dr. Alfred D. and Ruth E. (Caverly) Mihachik.

David was educated in the local schools, graduating from Coe-Brown Academy and going on to attend UNH. As a Young man, David worked as a cook at the NH Highway Hotel, as a salesman for the Vanguard fire alarm company, and then eventually worked in numerous other fields, including carpentry, drilling and blasting, and general construction, working for many years for Bob Cutter. In 1986 he founded Mihachik and Sons Carpentry and worked as a carpenter and cabinet builder until his retirement. He was passionate about hunting, fishing, cooking, telling stories or a good joke, the Red Sox and spending time with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed socializing in his workshop, and at the family camp. He belonged to the Moose Club, the Elks Club and the Pehaugen Men's Club. In his earlier years he enjoyed his time as a Boy Scout leader and staying involved with his boys.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Warren Mihachik.

He is survived by his wife Kathleen (Barrett) Mihachik of Chichester with whom he shared 54 years of marriage, sons, David Mihachik, Jr. and his wife Tracey of Allenstown, James Mihachik and his wife Jen of Epsom and Andrew Mihachik of Barrington, sister, Joan Nelson and her husband John of Rochester, brother and sisters in law, Daniel Barrett and his wife Jeanne of Contoocook, Michael Barrett of Portsmouth, Marion Stanley and her husband Richard of North Carolina and Linda Barrett of Concord, his beloved grandchild, Kelsey Mihachik as well as his extended grandchildren, Ashley Butler, Deven Lesieur and Blake Beauchesne as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

God needed a fisherman, so he took the best.

Calling Hours will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2021 from 10am-12pm at the Still Oaks Funeral & Memorial Home, 1217 Suncook Valley Highway, Epsom. A Service will be held in the funeral home beginning at Noon. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Northwood.
