What a great, thoughtful friend. He will be missed more than I can imagine. Doug was salt of the earth, who would give the shirt off his back for someone in need. Another Elkins boy down.

Doug was a caring, kind person who always tried to do more than the basics, caring for his family, and operating his business with the utmost integrity. I remember well the evening at Pleasant Lake Inn when Janet and Bob introduced Doug to Suzanne. I hope his family will be able to continue the excellent service he gave to all in New London.

Dear MacMichael Family,
Shocked and saddened to learn of Doug's passing. In a world that is often uncertain, Doug always showed up, always rolled in the yard on a Monday morn to do his job, and always did his work with pride. He carried on Bob's work ethic and had an encyclopedic knowledge of New London/Elkin's people. Much is lost with his passing. Our family mourns his loss and extends deep condolences to you and yours.
