Elaine (Lillios) Merchant

Concord, NH - Elaine (Lillios) Merchant, 79, of Concord, passed away unexpectedly at home on June 19, 2025. She was born in Torrington, CT, on August 19, 1945, to her late parents, her father Spiro Lillios and her mother Amelia (Demas) Boches. Raised and educated in Concord, NH, Elaine graduated from Concord High School with the Class of 1964. After high school, she began her career that spanned fifty years of service at the New Hampshire Division of Motor Vehicles in Concord.

Elaine, known as a sweet and loving soul, would gladly help those who were less fortunate than herself. She enjoyed living a simple life of watching old programs, a movie buff for the classics, and taking care of her pet cat. When Elaine was younger, she spent time enjoying the ocean breeze at the beach and spending time in the sun. As a former member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, where she sang in the choir in her youth. Elaine touched many lives in many different circles, where she will be fondly loved, cherished and missed by all.

Elaine is survived by her beloved son and only child, Christopher M. Merchant, of Concord, NH, her two sisters, Alexandra Lekkas & her husband James of Manchester, Vasiliki Collins & her husband Michael of Stratham, NH, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two sisters, Rita Bunten and Sofia Plentzas.

Visitation for Elaine will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, from 12:00 – 1:00 PM at the Holy Trinity Greek Church, 68 North State Street, Concord, NH. Friends and family are cordially invited to attend. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM at the conclusion of calling hours at the church.
