Francis J. "Frank" Brissette Sr.

1932 - 2013

ALLENSTOWN - Mr. Francis J. "Frank" Brissette Sr., 81, of Pine Acres Road, died Monday, Oct. 14, 2013, at the Concord Hospital.

Born in Burlington, Vt., on March 19, 1932, Frank was the son of Wilfred and Simonne (Fay) Brissette. At the age of 5, his family moved to the Pembroke-Allenstown area, where Frank remained all his life.

He had worked for Goulet Plumbing & Heating and retired from Goffstown Auto Parts. He also served in the Army National Guard from 1949 to 1958. He was a member of the John J. Maguire American Legion Post #28, the Knights of Columbus Fr. Routhier Council #4666 and the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Msgr. Buckley Assembly.

A lifetime member of the Concord Federation of Musicians - Local 374, he was an avid musician and contract drummer. But music was never work for Frank, it was his art and his passion. He had enjoyed playing with numerous bands over the years and was currently with the Epsom Town Band. He was also a longtime choir member and percussionist for St. John the Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Ste Therese Rosebush Society, whose members will meet at the funeral home at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18, for a prayer service.

Members of Frank's family include his wife, Veryl (Harper) Brissette, with whom he had celebrated 57 years of marriage on Sunday, October 13. He is also survived by seven children, Dawna Baxter of Allenstown, Francis "Joe" Brissette of Concord, Debra Fleury of Laconia, Diane Homer of Epsom, Denise Halen of Allenstown, Jeannine Berube of Pembroke and David Brissette of Somerville, Mass.; 19 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mariette Brissette and Jan Shichken, both of Allenstown, and Lucille Sarette of Goffstown; a brother, Louis Brissette of Bow; and nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are Friday, Oct. 18, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Petit Funeral Home, 167 Main St., Pembroke.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Oct. 19, at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church in Allenstown.



Burial will take place in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, followed by a reception and luncheon at the Parish Hall.
