Center Barnstead, NH — Gene Joseph Spain, "Geno", "Spainey," 65, passed away suddenly on June 6, 2022, with his loving wife, Nancy Spain, by his side.

Born in Concord, NH on September 18, 1956, he was the son of the late Rose and Ronald Spain.

A graduate of Concord High School, Gene spent a few years in Washington then moved back to NH where he worked as a skilled carpenter at NorthBranch Construction and most recently Gillman Carpentry. He was an animated storyteller who loved using one liners. A constant jokester, Gene amused us all with his impersonations, especially Julia Childs. He rarely missed his Tuesday night ping pong & cards with the guys. Gene loved his golf game, striper fishing and was a self-proclaimed master of the grill and never ran out of dance moves. His favorite times were spent on the many vacation trips he took with his wife.

He was predeceased by his brothers, Paul and Brian Spain.

He leaves behind his wife of 24 years, Nancy who he affectionately referred to as "Merrill", his daughters, Emilee Spain and her companion Jake Berue and Tayloir Spain Marcero and her husband Alan, his step-children, Tamra Burke and her husband Jim, Tracy Martel and her husband Michael and Derek Lucia, his brothers Ron and Bob Spain and his grandchildren; Morgan, Kennedy, Ryker, Reese and Nolan, his great grandchildren, Faelynn and Kashton and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 14th from 10 to 10:30 A.M. in The Roan Family Funeral Home – Still Oaks Chapel, 1217 Suncook Valley Highway in Epsom. A Service of Remembrance will follow at 10:30 A.M. and services will conclude with burial at Maple Grove Cemetery, Concord.
