I was saddened to hear about George,I started my police career in the Town of Tilton in 1976. Back in those days it could be a pretty rough and tumble Town at times. George took me under his wing like a big brother and taught me the ropes, but kept an eye out for me.Over the years I lost touch with George but I have never forgot him. I was going to pass through Tilton seems I have more time time on my hands since I've retired and stop to see George. Upon getting information on George's resident I found that he had passed. So all I can do is give thanks to a man who helped shape my life in a very important time in my life.It was my honor to have known him and work with not only a person with high integrity, but compassion and understanding of people as humane beings. It shaped the way I trained young Police Officers in the future when I became a Police Supervisor in charge of training. Thanks again George and I my sincere condolences to the Prescott family he was a great guy, but then again you already know that. Go in peace that you always worked hard to keep, and don't worry " I Got Your Six". Clayton Wood and Family

George Prescott served the town of Tilton well. He was exceptionally helpful to me during my years as Dean of Students and Headmaster at Tilton School. George was a capable leader who demonstrated solid judgment and both understanding and compassion for adolescents. He was an excellent public servant who brought distinction to his department.

George was the chief of police in Tilton when my husband and I owned the Tilton Inn. We had such a wonderful working relationship with him; he made our efforts to "civilize" the Inn that much easier. My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this sad time.
