Mrs. Hiltz, one of the kindest ladies I've had the pleasure to know. Sadly the news of her passing has come too soon. The tributes written here by friends, family, former students, colleagues and all who knew her, speaks volumes of how much she meant as a mother, friend, colleague and teacher to many she met along the way. If only the rest of us could live up to her legacy...
respectfully yours, Kathy Tetreault

Donald and Family,
As a colleague, Hilda helped make going to work worthwhile. I knew that when I went into her classroom, before, during, or after our day of instruction, I would always be welcomed. I knew we would have constructive conversations about the students with whom we worked, trying to figure out how we could better help them learn, continue to learn or want to learn, often by examining our teaching styles and personalities as well as their learning styles and personalities. She had a wonderful ear for me, and especially, for her students. She was gentle and kind. Thanks, Hilda.

Dear Don, Allen, & Ruthanne,
I was so saddened to hear of Hilda's passing. Having lost my mother a few years ago, I understand how difficult it is. Hilda was a wonderful person, the true definition of a lady. She meant a lot to me growing up with Allen, one of those moms who looked out for all of us. Later, she became a professional colleague and was a pleasure to work with. She touched many lives in her subtle, quiet way. I send you my deepest, heartfelt sympathies. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
