Irene C. Fahey

RIDGEFIELD PARK, N.J. - Irene C. Fahey, (nee Ward), age 90, of Ridgefield Park passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2012.

Irene enjoyed an active social life and loved craft work, including embroidery, crocheting and ceramics. At home, she was known for baking special cakes and pies throughout the year, and for breaking into song while working in the kitchen. She delighted in the world around her and in the flowers that bloomed in her own yard. She was an active member of her church, including involvement in the St. Francis Mother's Guild and the Rosary Society and enjoyed her volunteer work at Holy Name Hospital. Irene also was a regular visitor to the Ridgefield Park Seniors Center and participated in many programs there.

Beloved wife to the late Thomas.

Devoted mother to Thomas, Jr. and his wife Patricia, Kathleen Leuffgen and her husband Andrew, William and his wife Maryann, Mary Ann Fahey and Tim Fitzpatrick and James and his wife Lorie. Loving grandmother to six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Dear sister to Theresa Barbetta and the late William Ward, James Ward, Cecelia Ricciardi, Herbert Ward, Francis Ward and Albert Ward.

Visiting hours will be held Monday, November 12, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., at Vorhees Ingwersen Funeral Home. Entombment will be in Hackensack Cemetery. vorheesingwersen.com
