Janice Wicks-Fiske Obituary
Barnstead, NH - Jan, aged 66, passed peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on March 4, 2023.
She was best known for her compassion and kindness, showing up in many ways whenever anyone needed an ear, food, a ride, or advice. Jan was happiest when she could throw, organize, help with, or attend a social gathering. She was an advocate for those navigating assistance programs, having been in that position herself. Her career with the State of NH lasted almost 45 years, gaining many friends whose lives she touched as either co-worker or applicant. At the top of her priority list was always her loving husband of 40 years, Charlie.
Jan was preceded in death by her daughter Carmella Fiske, brother Walt Wicks, and parents Harry and Arlene Wicks. Surviving family includes husband Charles Fiske Jr.; children: Charles Fiske III, Phyllis Young, Robert Fiske, Chris Fiske and wife Kelly; grandchildren: Carmella, Payge, and Chase; great-granddaughter Brooklyn; nieces and nephews: Matt and Mary and their children Chloe and Matthew, Angela and her children Haven, Tianna and Athaliah, Justin and his daughter Allyce.
A celebration of life gathering will be held Saturday, March 25th 12-2 at the Community Center 74 Main St. Pittsfield NH 03263. Donations to honor her memory can be made to your local food pantry.

As someone who witnessed firsthand the love and compassion Jan showed to members of our family, it is obvious that she exemplified a life of service to others. She and Charlie made such a wonderful team and were a blessing to all who knew them. As our cousin, we are forever grateful to the many visits and meals she provided to Jim and Valerie Wicks during their waning years. Rest in peace, Janice. It was a life well lived.
