John Smith Obituary
Concord, NH - John "Jay" Leonard Smith Jr, 68, of Concord, NH, passed away suddenly on the 22nd of April, 2025. Born May 21, 1956, in Boothbay Harbor, Maine, He was the eldest son of John and Barbara Smith. In 2016, John married Mary Dahood, blending their families and hearts.
John Retired in 2021 after a meaningful career with the Central Hooksett Water Precinct. In retirement, he enjoyed tinkering, fishing, and helping friends. Above all, John found joy in serving the Lord. He faithfully served a Word of Life Christian Fellowship for over 30 years, dedicating himself to ministry and loving others well.
John was known for his generous heart, welcoming spirit, and unwavering faith. He had a gift for making people feel seen and valued, always eager to share the love of Jesus
Jay was predeceased by his daughter Lisa Smith and his parents. He is survived by his wife Mary; daughter Jessica Devoid; sons, John and Eli Smith; stepsons Chris and Ted Perry; and grandchildren, Brooke and Ashley Devoid, Owen and Logan Smith, Bryant Heath, Bryce, Aidyn, Sam, and Sophie Perry; and siblings, Mary Decosta and Mark Smith.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 17, 2025, at 10:30 AM at Word of Life Christian Fellowship, Concord, NH.

I am so saddened to hear this news of Jay, a shock. Jay was always there for me and Stevee and when Steve passed away he helped me. He was happy when he met Mary, couldn't wait to tell me about it. We watched each other's children grow up. So so sorry, sending hugs to you all.
