Karen "Kit" Andrews
Nashua, NH — Nashua, NH – Karen "Kit" Andrews, 69, of Nashua, NH died unexpectedly of natural causes. Kit was born in Concord, NH on October 16, 1952 to the late G. Raymond and Claire (Dame) Ramsay. She was a 12th generation American whose direct ancestor on her mother's side, John Dam, arrived in Dover, NH in 1623. A garrison (wood house) built by John Dam's son in 1675, is preserved at the Woodman Museum in Dover.
From the day she was born, Karen was nicknamed Kit and loved this name all her life. She grew up in Concord, NH and graduated from Bishop Brady High School in 1970. She attended Cinderella Modeling School in Boston and was featured in several print ads.
Kit found her passion in working for start-up companies and was the Senior Buyer for Biotech-Cytonome, in Bedford, MA at the time of her death. Kit was a hard worker, a dedicated employee and was well recognized as very knowledgeable in her field of work.
Generous of spirit, Kit loved fiercely and with her whole heart. She gave all she could to her sons and those she loved. Kit met Michael Andrews during her time in Boston and they were married on May 17, 1973. Kit and Michael settled in Nashua, where she lived for the remainder of her life. After moving to Nashua, she welcomed her first son, Jay Michael and seven years later her second boy, Robert James, whom she adored and treasured. They were the most important part of her life.
She displayed strength of character, resilience and determination all her life. Kit was fun and funny; she sure could talk and was happy to share her opinions. She was so loved and will be missed by all who knew her, but most of all, by her family. Kit was a lifelong Catholic and a long-time parishioner at Resurrection Catholic Church in Nashua.
Kit is survived by her son, Jay Andrews and his wife, Janelle, of Los Angeles, CA; her son Robert Andrews and his wife, Molly, of Beverly Hills, CA; her sister, Linda Toumpas and her husband, Nick, of Rye, NH; her brother, Robert Ramsay of Hopkinson, NH; her grandchildren Greyson, Elle, Ophelia, and Harlow; her niece Leah Toumpas, of Beaufort, SC; as well as many extended family members.
Relatives and friends are invited to Kit's visitation on WEDNESDAY, March 23rd from 9 until 10:30 AM at ROCHETTE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11 AM at Resurrection Catholic Church, 449 Broad St., Nashua, NH. Burial will be in Los Angeles, CA at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to End 68 Hours of Hunger, Nashua, NH. Arrangements have been entrusted to Rochette Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 21 Kinsley St., Nashua, NH.
