I was so sad to hear about the passing of Loretta. She was such a remarkable person. It was a joy to work with her at the college. Her great sense of humor, people sense and work ethic endeared her to everyone, especially the students. Loretta was one of a kind and my heart warms when I think of her. Holding you all close in my heart during this difficult time.

Loretta was a great family friend from Big Diamond Pond. My parents, Frank and Clare Owen were good friends with her for years. We have missed her these last years, loosing my parents as well.
We think of Doug and Sarah with fondness and their tender care for Loretta as her health declined.
We will always treasure the memories made with the Rayno family.
We have a vacant lot now but Heather and Lucas plan to build a new camp this coming year. I am hoping I live to see it and maybe some of you!
Just know we send our love and deepest sympathies to you. Thanks for your friendships over the years!
Love, Lynne Owen Placey.

Memory of Loretta

Caring for Loretta was one of the quiet blessings of my life. Even as dementia tried its best to steal pieces from her, it never touched her spirit. She greeted every day with a smile, a laugh, and that gentle kindness that made the world feel lighter just by being around her.

She never spoke a negative word. Not once. Somehow, even on the hard days, she carried a softness that reminded me what real grace looks like. She made my days brighter, and I always looked forward to seeing her.

Loretta loved her gardens and the peace she found in her yard. Being outside felt like home to her. One of my favorite memories is taking her to the petting farm to see the goats. She lit up in a way I’ll never forget. That joy was pure, simple, and absolutely her.

I’m grateful for the time I had with her, for the laughs we shared, and for the warmth she brought into my life. I’ll carry her smile with me.
