Madeleine Lamy Obituary

Madeleine M. "Maddy" Lamy

Nashua, NH - Madeleine M. "Maddy" Lamy, 76, of Nashua, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Langdon Place of Nashua.

Born in Manchester, NH, on February 10, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Adelard J. and Marguerite B. (Miville) Lamy. Maddy was raised and educated in Manchester and was a proud graduate of St. John the Baptist School (Class of 1963) and Sainte Marie High School (Class of 1967). She went on to earn a degree in Accounting from Hesser Business College.

Maddy enjoyed a dedicated career of over 30 years with the Export-Import Bank of the United States in Washington, D.C., where she served as an account representative to Mexico. Following her retirement, she returned to New Hampshire, where she cherished time spent by the lake in Pittsfield and remained active in her community as a member of the Epsom/Chichester Lions Club and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees (NARFE).

A natural storyteller and true people person, Maddy lit up every gathering with her warmth, humor, and tales of her world travels. Her adventures took her to Alaska, Barbados, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand, the Netherlands, and beyond. She especially treasured two trips to Iceland to witness the Northern Lights and a month-long stay in Normandy, France, where she visited the birthplace of her paternal ancestor.

Maddy was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Robert Lamy.

She is survived by her loving family, including her cousin Beth Bentley and husband Keith of Merrimack, NH; her cousin Laurent "Larry" Autotte of Manchester, NH; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends who became family. She will be forever remembered as one of the original "Kelley Street Girls" of Manchester, NH, where she grew up with her best friends Muriel, Sue, and remembers with love their late friend Jackie.

SERVICES Calling hours will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025, from 1:00 – 3:00 PM at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH. A funeral service will follow in the chapel at 3:00 PM. Graveside services will be private.
