Nancy Fox Obituary

Nancy Eleanor Fox, age 66, passed away peacefully in her home on September 17, 2019 in Franklin NH surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on December 7, 1952 in Claremont NH, the daughter of Jean (Winterton) Fox and David John Fox.

Nancy attended New England College and University of New Hampshire. She was the daughter of David Fox, who was in the first graduating class at NEC and she attended on full scholarship. In California, she was a technical writer for several corporations and manager of Creative Services.

Nancy was her own person; principled, honest, ethical and genuine. All who knew her appreciated her sense of humor and courage to always stand up for what is right. She absolutely loved all of her pets as if they were her children. She had a deep rooted admiration and love for all living things as well as the life of the planet. She so loved the ocean, her gardens and her birds. She loved to cook and entertain friends and family, who she cared deeply for, and she really loved her lobstah.

She was my true love who I was blessed to enjoy life with and share years of joy, laughter, adventures, humor, love, and respect. We had 45 amazing years together, marrying July 28, 2011, when it became legal in NH. We raised a son and a daughter and moved to California for 23 years from 1980 to 2003.

She leaves behind her wife/partner of 45 years Judy Laughy Lauren; her daughter Colleen Belt (Greg); son John Woodard; five grandchildren: Zachary (Whitney), Raye (Suiki), Connor, Nicole and Darek; her brother Alan Fox (Cynthia) and her sister Judy Fox (Jeff) who she loved so much; her sister in law Karen (Carl) Caveney; brothers in law Jimmy (Kate) Laughy, Michael (Janice) Laughy, Dean (Susie) Laughy; many nieces, nephews, cousins, especially Larry O'Brien, and so many amazing, loving special friends, and all those she met and knew in life.

A Celebration of Nancy's life will be held on Saturday, October 26th from 12:30-3:30 in the Sleigh Room at Pat's Peak in Henniker, NH.

Oh, Judy, I am so very sorry to learn of Nancy's death. When I think of her, and of you, my mind is filled with thoughts of the endless ways you made each other laugh. The pleasure you took in being together was wonderful to behold. And now, you have the comfort and the pain of those memories. And it is all so hard to understand. The bonds of your friendship will carry you through these sad times, and the hole in your heart will ache and become part of you - but how very fortunate you are that Nancy was - and is - at the center of your life.
We've lost touch since those days in the Bookstore, but I am so grateful you were there and part of that terrific crew. Your gentle presence was a key component in creating the warm, welcoming ambiance that was integral to our success. Peggy is on a trip to Australia now, but I know that she joins me in sending you heart felt sympathy,

The circle goes unbroken; May the LOVE Nancy shared with her Nearest & Dearest sustain you in this very sad time!
I first knew Nancy from our Conant School days. She would have been in my class, however, her birthdate fell after the December 1st cutoff. Still there was recess & jump rope! Nancy was always spirited, friendly & kind! In these later years, I've followed her on FB. Her love &
care of senior dogs both humbling & inspiring. A rainbow bridge of old friends to have been a beautiful gathering, no doubt!
With My Deepest Sympathies

My heart breaks for Judy and her family. Nancy was a lovely person, funny...intelligent...and a bit sassy. And even though I hadn't seen her since Judy and she moved to the east coast, I often thought of the both of them fondly and kept in touch with Nancy via FB with family pictures and adventures. Much love to those who were closest to her....she will be missed. *hugs* rj wall

Nancy was one of the first people I met when I moved to Concord. We were both 7th graders at Rundlett Jr. High. I was new to the school and did not know my way around. Nancy, and her best buddies Brenda Comolli and Sally Gove, were head and shoulders taller than the rest of our classmates (7D), so I just followed them from class to class. Good thing they never ditched school! I'll always remember you with love, Nancy.

Nancy was a big part of my South End childhood, and also our close Conant School class that still holds so many memories for me. We would cross paths through the years, but lately communicated on FB. I will miss her.
My sincere condolences to the Fox family and friends.
