Norman Gillis Obituary

Norman "Bo" Gillis, Jr.
Soperton, GA- Funeral services for Norman "Bo" Gillis, Jr. will be held Monday, March 3, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Higgs Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Westview Cemetery in Soperton. Reverend Albert Hill and Reverend
John Drake will officiate. Mr. Gillis, 75, was the son of the late Norman & Atlas Braddy Gillis. He was a native of Soperton, GA, was retired from the National Guard Army after 25 years of service, a Methodist by Faith and a full time farmer. He was preceded in death by his two siblings, Grace Pollett and Carolyn Jones.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Iris Lowe Gillis of Soperton; two daughters, Linda (Gregg) Reece of Scott and Holly (Roman) Joyce of Pembroke; two sons, Russell (April) Hinson of McRae and Josh Hinson of Soperton; one sister, Bobbie Thompson of Soperton; eight grandchildren, Christi (Wes) Brantley, Will Hinson, Kaylyn Hinson, Blake Joyce, Garrett Joyce, Jenna Hinson, Laila Hinson and Trey Kight; two great grandchildren, Cooper Poole and Camdyn Poole and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM Sunday night at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Soperton United Methodist Church at 559 Second Street, Soperton, GA 30457
Higgs Funeral Home of Soperton has charge of arrangements.
