Paul Anderson Obituary

Paul E. Anderson

Concord, NH -

Paul E. Anderson, 97, lifetime resident of Concord, NH passed away on January 19, 2025, at Granite VNA Hospice House in Concord, NH.

He was born in Concord, on November 24, 1927 (Thanksgiving Day), the son of the late Henry and Helena (Foy) Anderson and he graduated from Concord High School in 1948 where he was the class treasurer. After high school, Paul was drafted by the Army where he served for two years. Upon his return, he met his wife at Webster Lake, and they were married for 70 years.

Paul, also known as Andy, spent 40 years working at the Rumford Press before it suddenly closed its doors. Paul was a natural salesman, so he transitioned to selling cars for several years until he started working at the New Hampshire Lottery Commission where he retired from in 1994.

Paul was a parishioner at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church since 1957 and a proud member of the Christian Servants, Elks, Eagles, and American Legion.

In addition to his parents, Paul is predeceased by his two brothers, Roland and John, and his son Michael.

Paul is survived by his wife, Jeanne (Deshaies) Anderson; one son and three daughters; Jim (Kathy) Anderson, Paula (Gary) Cantara, Brenda (Don) Morse, and Lynda (Jordan) Plante; ten grandchildren, Bryan, Matt, Ben, Jenny, Amanda, Brad, Kiersten, Ashley, Sydney, and Jacob; three great grandchildren, Connor, Molly, and Evan; two brothers-in-law Richard Deshaies and Reeve Tracy, two sisters-in-law Doris Toupin and Pat Deshaies and many special friends, nieces and nephews.

Paul was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He especially enjoyed holidays with his family, parties with friends, watching his grandchildren play sports, playing cards, dancing, and going out to eat.

Paul will also be fondly remembered by many for his famous American Chop Suey, neat appearance, many years at Lake Winnisquam, and love for chocolate.

Our family would like to thank the Granite VNA Hospice House for all they did for Paul in his final days.

We will miss you Paul, we loved to stop by each time we visited from Ireland . Seeing you and Jeanne was our first stop out of Boston. Our children grown now talk about your stories, the great muffins Jeanne would have made for them and the wonderful warm welcome we all had at your house. We send our love and prayers.

I'm very sorry to read of Paul's passing. I've seen him at IHM for over 20 years and I feel badly we never had the opportunity to speak. He was always very gentle, kind, and well dressed. Go in peace brother Paul. Vivat Jesus.
