Peter Duffy Obituary

DOVER/BROOKFIELD – Peter J. Duffy, 90, died peacefully at the Concord Hospice Home Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016, after a brief illness. Born October 29, 1925, in Dover. The son of the late Peter and Ethel Duffy, of Dover; a family of eight; he is survived by one brother, Bernard Duffy of Silver Street, Dover.

United States Navy veteran in World War II, 1943 attend the submariners school in New London, Conn., served as Gunner's Mate Third Class on the USS Requin 481 submarine from 1944 to 1946 earning World War II Victory Medal, American Theatre medal and Atlantic-Pacific Theatre medal.

After his military service, life began with his marriage to his late wife, Gloria Frances Kennett of Sanbornville. Together they raised seven children in Dover for 35 years before they moved to Brookfield to spend the rest of their 50+ years together.

Predeceased by his daughter, Maureen Duffy. His surviving family members, Sharon and Tom Pearce of Bow, Anne and Robert Erickson of Rochester, Kathleen and Barry Williams of Dover, Carol Duffy of Conway, Paul Duffy of Hampton and Mark and Tammy Duffy of Sanbornville; his many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Special thank you the NH Veterans Home of Tilton.

Services will be held Friday, Aug. 12, at 10 a.m. at St Mary's Church, 25 Third St., Dover.

A gathering directly after the service will be held in the parish hall.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to Concord Regional VNA Hospice House, 240 Pleasant St, Concord, NH 03301.
