Philip Cournoyer Obituary

Philip Cournoyer

Pembroke, NH - Mr. Philip D. Cournoyer, 65, of Pembroke, passed away peacefully at home on November 8, 2025, after a period of declining health.

Born in Concord, Phil was the son of the late Edmond L. and Therese D. (Gavoury) Cournoyer. He was raised and educated in Pembroke and was a graduate of Pembroke Academy. Following graduation, he enlisted in the Unites States Navy and served his country from 1979 to 1983.

Prior to his retirement, Phil was employed by Second Wind Water Systems as an installer. In later years, he was a proud member of the Pembroke Fire Department for 15 years.

Phil was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed hunting for turkey, pheasant, partridge and deer. He loved taking his boat out on the ocean to fish for striper and haddock. He enjoyed making maple syrup and, in the winter, he would ride his snow machine and go ice fishing. He loved watching his sports on TV. Phil was always busy doing the things he loved and especially cherished the time spent with his grandchildren. Phil will be fondly remembered as a loving husband and family man.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Becky (LaRose) Cournoyer; his stepchildren: Melissa Lanier and Brian and Matthew Potter. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Wyatt, Levi and Taylor as well as his siblings: Paulette Cournoyer, Edmond Cournoyer, Paul Cournoyer and Simone Cournoyer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Phil's wishes, there will be no services at this time. Assisting the family with arrangements is The Roan Family Funeral Home of Pembroke. To share a memory or offer a condolence, please visit www.roanfamilyfuneral.com
