Randell G. Craig
Hopkinton, NH - Randell G. Craig, 80, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2025, in Concord, NH, surrounded by his loving family.
Randell was born on June 22, 1945, in Philadelphia, PA, son of the late George L. and Gertrude A. Craig. He was raised in Abington along with his beloved late sister, Claudia. He graduated from Abington High School and earned his bachelor's degree from Pennsylvania State University. During college, he participated in sports and held leadership positions in student government and fraternal organizations. Randell furthered his education through Chartered Life Underwriter and Chartered Financial Consultant designations from The American College in Bryan Mawr, PA and the Stanford Executive Program at Stanford University in California.
For over thirty years, Randell worked in the insurance industry, progressing to senior executive positions with companies based in Philadelphia, Toronto/Alexandria, VA, and more recently Concord, NH. In 1990, Randell joined Chubb Life Insurance Company, settling with his family in Hopkinton. He was active within industry organizations and in the community as a board member of the Capital Center for the Arts and the Christa McAuliffe Planetarium. After last serving as Chief Operating Officer at Chubb, Randell left the insurance business in 1997 with the sale of Chubb Life and pursued private investment opportunities for the next 13 years. He was happy to leave the corporate life behind and enjoy a flexible work schedule while spending meaningful time with his family and friends.
Randell had a lifelong interest in world history and cultures. He traveled extensively during his career, visiting all 50 states and numerous countries. He shared many of these trips with his wife and daughter, learning together and building wonderful memories. He was an avid reader, a classical and jazz music enthusiast, a former competitive squash player, and a great fan of Penn State football, the Red Sox, and the Celtics.
Randell's most cherished time was spent with his family. Together they enjoyed the natural beauty of New England, holiday traditions and vacations with his dear sister Claudia and Florida family, and special gatherings with his in-laws. He is survived by his devoted wife and partner of 48 years, Tamara, and their loving daughter, Taryn Craig and her partner Aaron Norfolk; his niece Kristi English and her husband John and their children, Jonathan Pierce and his wife Grace and son Jaxson, Jarret and Skylar English; his sister-in-law Lydia and her husband Dr. Nicholas Geacintov; brother-in-law Nikolas Butkov and his partner Beatrice Barbera; nephews-in-law Derek Pew and J. Glenn Pew and their families; cousins-in-law Helen and Michael Lake; cousins Donna and John Vandenbrink and Jean and Robert Goughand their families. He will be greatly missed.
In accordance with Randell's wishes, there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central and Northern New Hampshire (
