Richard Lufkin Obituary

Richard B. Lufkin, (Papa), 75, of Concord, passed away after a brief illness with his family by his side.
Richard was born on July 10, 1943, in Medford, Mass., to George and Lela Lufkin. Richard grew up in Stonington, Maine, and Olneyville, R.I.
In March of 1966, Richard joined the Marines and fought in the Vietnam War. After returning, he settled in Concord and raised his two daughters with his wife. He was active in his girls' lives from Girl Scouts and coaching softball.
Richard worked for the City of Concord as a tree foreman for more than 40 years. Every year, he carefully selected the Christmas Tree for Downtown Concord and Penacook.
After retirement, he worked for Auto Value delivering car parts which kept him busy and he also enjoyed going to various sporting events watching his grandson Jakob play, he enjoyed watching YouTube and Netflix.
Richard is survived by two daughters, Rebecca and her husband Stephen of Franklin, N.H., and Liza of Concord, N.H. Five grandchildren, Annie and her boyfriend Kyle, Max of Manchester, Dennis, Zackary, Tanna, and Jakob. Two great-grandchildren, Beckham and Silas. His brothers George and Jan of Maine, Gerald and his wife Cheryl of South Carolina, and Delwyn and his wife Linda of Florida, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Audrey in 1987 and a brother Gene in 2017.
Burial will take place on Thursday, October 18, at 1 p.m. at the N.H. Veterans Cemetery.
