Robert Wilson Obituary

Robert Paul Wilson Jr.

Bridgewater, NH — Robert (Bob) Wilson, Jr. passed away after a long battle with cancer Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Concord Hospital - Laconia. His son Rob Wilson III and Daughter-in-Law Erica were with him in his final moments. He was 74 years of age.

Bob was born January 20, 1947 in Lancaster, NH, a son to Robert Wilson, Sr. and the late Justine Wilson. Bob attended Proctor Academy and graduated from Franklin High School. After briefly attending Keene State College, he went to work for the National Ski Patrol at Waterville Valley Resort, and later became the Assistant Mountain Manager at Burke Mountain, under Ford Hubbard. Bob went on to have an extensive construction management career, working for Pike Industries, Audley Construction, Northeast Erectors, and JB Sullivan Corporation out of Bedford, NH as a Project Manager. He went on to start his own company at the end of his career.

Bob loved sailing, skiing, and traveling to the Keys and St. John's in the Caribbean. He was a passionate skier and outdoorsman throughout his life, who also enjoyed hunting and fly fishing; he was also an avid antique collector.

After retiring, Bob spent time traveling to some of his favorite places, eventually settling in Bridgewater, NH to help care for his parents. He was a man who deeply cared for and was devoted to his family, helping care for his Father and Mother until he couldn't because of his illness. He was extremely proud of his children and his grandchildren. His children were inspired by the confidence and self-belief Bob instilled in them that they could be and do anything they wanted in life.

Bob was a very active member of the community who was heavily involved with the Kiwanis as a business leader in Concord, holding several positions - including President - within the organization throughout his years of involvement.

As a family man, he coached baseball for the Franklin Little League for many years in Franklin, NH when his children were involved in the organization. Bob is survived by his Father, Robert Wilson, Sr. of Bristol; his Sister Patrica Clark of Bristol; his children Robert Wilson III and wife Erica, Todd Wilson and wife Theresa; grandchildren, Dyllan Wilson, McKenna Wilson, Reed Wilson, Garrett Wilson, and Grace Wilson. He also has several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 2, 2021 from 11:00am-1:00pm at Veteran's Memorial Ski Area in Franklin, NH: 266 Flaghole Rd, Franklin, NH 03235.

The Wilson Family. Bob was a long time friend and fellow member and past President of the Concord Kiwanis Club. He was always the first in line to volunteer in whatever project we started. RIP my good friend.

To Wilson family,
Sorry to hear of Bob's passing. We had a lot of fun skiing and après ski. Good memories! Gile's milk truck route in the Winnisquam area, water skiing on Highland Lake with Terri O., ... was there a blue Ford Mustang? Skiing! Good times to misspend our youth!

Dear Robby & Todd,
I was so deeply saddened to read of your father Robert's passing in the Concord Monitor online just moments ago.
A lifetime has passed since we were neighbors on Charles Street. I wish we could return to those days. When I close my eyes, I can still see you riding your bikes, and playing with your trucks with my little brother Chris. I was a young teenager, and babysitting for you on Saturday evenings was my first job ever. Your father was such a good man, and he and your dear mother Mary were always so kind to me.
Our parents love us unconditionally from the moment we are born, and losing them is one of the most difficult parts of our journey. I have lost both of my parents, but they live on in my heart and in so many precious memories, just as your father will live on in your hearts always. Soon you will see subtle signs that he is near, still watching over you with the same unconditional love as he did during his time here on earth.
I hope that life has been good to you. May all the remaining days of your lives be filled with love and happiness, good health, and many blessings from above.
I have lived in Santa Monica for forty one years, but Franklin will always be home. It will always hold a very special place in my heart.
My thoughts and my prayers are with you, and Erica & Theresa, and your grandfather Robert, and Patrica, and Dyllan & McKenna & Reed & Garrett & Grace at this very sad time.
