Roberta Crowley Obituary

MALDEN, MA - Roberta "Bobby" Crowley, 68, passed away peacefully surrounded by family Friday, June 17, 2011 after a long illness. She was born in North Adams, Mass., March 10, 1943. She was the daughter of Donald Marshall and Dorothy (Young) Bain.

As a child, Bobby spent some time in and out of orphanages. This is when she was taken under the wing of Sister Margaret Ahern, of the Sisters of Mercy in Manchester. Sister Margaret was a great influence in Bobby's life. She guided her through a difficult childhood and was instrumental in the wonderful person Bobby became.

In her earlier years, Bobby was a licensed foster parent for hard to place troubled teens in Connecticut. She also worked as a correctional officer in the New Hampshire State Prison System for 6 years.

In her later years, she owned and managed an elderly home care service in New Hampshire. In 2000, Bobby moved to Boise, Idaho, where she owned and operated a wheelchair and special needs transportation service with her partner, Sherry Wilkie.

Bobby loved helping people, she loved her family and her friends and she loved fishing. Bobby never met a stranger; everyone she met was touched by her good and kind heart.

Bobby is survived by her longtime partner, Sherry Wilkie of boise, Idaho; her children, John Burnor or Boise, and Margaret Medina of Florida; three grandchildren, Daniel Vieira, John and Shannon Burnor; three sisters, Lorraine Aldo of New Hampshire, June Flynn of Benson, Vt. and Janice Paz; three brothers, David, Albert, and Mark; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her mother and father; one sister, donna Mayo; and two brothers, Eugene and Richard.

A private celebration of her life will take place Sunday, July 10, at 2 p.m. in Benson, Vt,.
