Lee, NH — Vivien Doane, 79, of Lee passed away on Sunday, Feb. 6, 2022.

Vivien was born Mar. 18, 1942 in Peterborough to Silas and Anne (Clarke) Gagnon. She grew up in Jaffrey and graduated from Our Lady of Monadnock Academy in 1960.

Vivien married Richard "Dick" Doane in 1967, and they settled in Allenstown to raise their family. She resided there until 2019. Vivien spent her professional life as the office secretary at Armond R. Dupont (ARD) School in Allenstown. She worked at the ARD junior highschool for thirty-four years, retiring in June 2010.

Vivien was a longtime parishioner of St. John the Baptist Church, where she led the children's choir, taught CCD, and was a member of the Ladies of Sainte Anne. She was an active member of the community, serving as a devoted Allenstown Library Trustee for many years and taking minutes at town meetings. Her community service extended to supporting children in extracurricular activities, including acting as a Cub Scout den mother for Troop 72, teaching shorthand, and leading school singing clubs.

Vivien truly loved the world that surrounded her, finding beauty in every moment. She spent hours on end tending her many flower gardens, watching birds at her feeders, picking blueberries, and observing the wonders of nature on hikes throughout New England with her husband. Vivien was also very proud of her Irish heritage, breaking into a jig when the spirit moved her. Above all else, she was an amazing wife and mother. Her love for her family was boundless, and she cherished every moment she spent with her grandson, Silas.

Vivien is survived by her children and their spouses, Robert and Karen Doane and Elizabeth and Michael Pregill, and her grandson, Silas Doane. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Doane.

Calling hours are Friday, February 18th from 4PM to 6PM at the Roan Family Funeral Home, 167 Main St. in Pembroke.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, February 19th at 10AM at St. John the Baptist Church, 10 School St. in Allenstown. The family kindly requests masks be worn at all services.
