Charles Lax Obituary

Skipper Lax - Congratulations on 83 years of living!

Charles Bernard Lax Jr. (Skipper) invites you to celebrate his life of 83 years! Skipper was a first generation American and gained the beloved nickname from his British merchant marine father. He was dad's little "Skipper".

Skipper was a loving care-giver to both his mother and his wife (Bonita). His nature was kind and generous with an obsessive love of cats and dogs. He was always willing to help and make sure his daughter had everything she needed to "make plenty of money".

Skipper was a career railroad man. He spent 41 years as a switchman where there are echos of "I'm hip" as an answer of affirmation. His favorite time was the annual tradition of going hunting at "Andy Land".

Most of all, Skipper was known as a prankster and jokester. He loved to get a response from you! In his youth, he scared innocent drivers by throwing a manikin from the woods to the street. Unsuspecting drivers slammed on brakes as they thought they were about to run over a body! He was known to drop fake vomit on the neighbor's step. When they opened the door he responded, "sorry I did not feel good". His absolute favorite joke was asking "what do you call my ex wife? An Ex- Lax of course!!" Skipper was a unique soul that would either drive you crazy or make you laugh!
