Francis (Frank) J. Sullivan of Savannah, GA passed away peacefully on Sunday, Nov. 16 at the age of 80 with loving family by his side. Frank was a devoted husband, father and grandfather as well as a member of the choir at his parish, St. James the Less Catholic Church, and a member of the 13th Colony Sound Barbershop Society.
Born in Providence, RI on June 15, 1945, he attended Archbishop Molloy High School in Queens, NY where he ran track and was inducted into the Stanner Hall of Fame. Frank continued his education, earning a BA in Humanities from Providence College and an MBA from Adelphi University. Most of his career was spent with Union Carbide Corporation until becoming a vice president of mergers and acquisitions for LinCare Corporation. A resident of Savannah, GA for the last 21 years, he took up singing as a hobby and just loved performing with his Driftaway quartet. Other interests included boating, traveling, reading and group discussion. He was a kind, generous, loving man who believed in always giving fully of self. As he was losing his sight, he made it his mission to find another way to do what he wanted in life and loved helping others with sight loss to do the same through his Bright Eye-Deas Low Vision Group. He was lovingly known as "Poppy" to his five grandchildren whom he encouraged to be all they could be with plenty of challenge to make their lives interesting. His three children revered him as a good and honest man and role model, and his wife, Judy, cherished every minute with her best friend.
Frank is predeceased by his parents Francis J Sullivan Sr. and Mildred E. (Gray) Sullivan, and his daughter Jennifer E. (Sullivan) St. Jean. He is survived by his wife, Judith (Judy)(Fouhy) Sullivan of Savannah, GA, two sons, Francis J Sullivan III and his wife Brenda (Hounsell) Sullivan of Douglas, MA and Matthew J Sullivan and his wife Teresa (Vance)Sullivan of Warner NH, as well as his son-in-law Christopher St. Jean of Savannah, GA.
