Nellie Boyles Obituary

Mrs. Nellie Jo Boyles, 73, of Guyton, Georgia, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at her home and is now back in the loving arms of her husband Billy.

Nellie was born in Savannah, Georgia and was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Elliott W. "Billy" Boyles, III, her daughter, Marie Boyles, her father, Joe Driggers, her mother, a sister, Dale Mathews, and a brother, Rusty Driggers. She retired as a school bus driver for the Effingham County Board of Education and she attended the Bethesda Church at Midland. She touched many lives, was a good friend to many, would do for others before herself, was a hard worker, had a giving heart, enjoyed her flowers and plants, but most of all, loved her family.

Survivors include her son, Elliott W. "Bubba" Boyles IV (Priscilla); grandchildren, Airel Rushing (Cory), Brittney Gilmore, Elliott W. "Conner" Boyles V, and Sophia Smesta; several great-grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Wiechmann; brother, Wayne Driggers, as well as several nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be on Thursday, October 23, 2025 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the funeral home. The funeral to honor Nellie's life will follow at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Paul Broussard officiating. The pallbearers will be Rocky Wilkes, Wayne Driggers, Jr., Tommie Moore, Nick Mathews, Bradley Gilmore, Joey Smith, Trevor Driggers, and Cory Rushing. The burial will follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
