Remembering Uncle Darrell today. Oh the stories those Garrett brothers told. And now their sons and grandsons do the same! Love to Donna and all the family.

Dear Donna,
I've just learned of cousin Darrell's passing. I'm so sorry to hear this, I remember him with that beautiful smile and sense of humor at all the Garrett reunions. I also remember thinking what a beautiful couple you were. You were one of my mom's (Jennie) favorites. Cecil was my dad and we always enjoyed those reunions.
Please know you and family are in our thoughts and prayers.

I was blessed and honored to have Darrell as my Uncle, I will miss that ornery grin and chuckle that he shared so freely, always attempting to make whomever he thought was uncomfortable or felt left out to feel like they belonged, that truly was his gift to all those who had the privilege of meeting him. Even through many heart wrenching losses and trials in this earthly life , he shared what joy he did have with others when I am sure at times it wasn't always easy to do. He, as his other Garrett brothers and sister had a work ethic beyond compare , if it came easy in life they probably didn't want it because there wasn't enough of a challenge for them to feel fulfilled. I had many great examples in my life and this man was truly one of them, I loved him dearly. May he rest in peace and enjoy the reunion with all the loved ones that have gone before, but knowing them Garretts they are probably working away.
Aunt Donna, anyone that knows you understands you were his foundation and he was blessed with your love ,companionship and sweet disposition. It was a rare event to see you guys apart , I know this won't be easy and I pray peace, comfort and good memories fill your days and may you take comfort knowing he is once again reunited with your boys. My sincere condolences to Aunt Donna , Debbie Vansickle, Deana Powell her sister Dawna and brother Ricky at this time, love you all.
