I last ran into John in the P. O. on Chestnut in Coshocton several years ago. We started to share a joke over something related to postal operations, and then I recognized him and we laughed all the more. He seemed to have a great seriousness at times, but balanced by a sort of wacky sense of humor. (I, myself, always saw this reflected in his son, Mike, my HS classmate, as well as Greg--as he lugged around that sousaphone in band. ) And I hope to at least tie his record as a church organist. My belated sympathy to the whole family.

I worked with John at Union / River View. Sorry to hear of his passing. He taught music above my classroom and our class enjoyed the daily band practices during last period.
Staff at Union had great and lasting friendships. Sending deepest sympathy to boys and Elaine.

I am sorry to hear of Mr. Hutson's death. He was our music teacher at Union High and, when I thought I would probably fail music appreciation class my freshman year at Muskingum College, he came to my parent's house over Thanksgiving in Nov 1961 and tutored me as to how to recognize themes in classical music. Supportive, firm, and had a sense of humor.
