Ledonis Daliere Obituary

Ledonis "Don" Daliere

Coshocton - Ledonis "Double D" Howard Daliere, age 86, of Coshocton, a retired Craftsman, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2020. He was born in New Castel Township, Coshocton, County on April 1, 1934 to the late Ralph and Edith (Kanuckel) Daliere.

He graduated from Warsaw High School in 1952. Don was married to Shirley (Taylor) Daliere for 41years, until she lost her life to cancer in 1994.

Don was sent to Germany with the Armed Forces and served two years. He left the Army as a Sergeant. Early in 1968, Don was hired by the Montgomery's to restore the Canal Town, which became Roscoe Village. He started on the Sweet Shop and other buildings. In the 70's, Nancy Longsinger, Historian for Roscoe Village, gave Don a nickname of the "Building Artist". He retired after 45 years and 100 plus new buildings and remodeling jobs, due to health. He had good help from his crew, Carl Davis and Carliss "Corkie" Kaser.

He was a 55 year member of the Masonic Lodge 96, 46 year member of the Coshocton Elks Lodge 376, a lifetime member of the Amvets Post 36, and various other local lodges. Don was a marksman, rifleman and sharpshooter. He loved his guns and participated in several national shooting competitions throughout his life, in which he either won or placed. Don was an avid hunter and went on numerous hunting expeditions.

Don will be sadly missed by his family. He married Darlene (Guthrie) Stipes on December 12, 2005, who survives. Don was surrounded by step-sons, Chris (AJ) Stipes, Mark (Jodi) Stipes and David (Jodi) Stipes; daughter-in-law, Michelle Stipes; step-grandchildren, Jessica Orecchio, Starrzanne (Don) Hilty, Ian (Stephanie) Stipes, Crosby (Ashley) Stipes, Collin (Kara) Stipes, Layne (BJ) Wheeler, Logan (Ali Hazen) Stipes, Peyton (Curtis Blake) Stipes, Kristen (Brandon) Wesney, Cory (Ashley) Barnett and Hunter Stipes; step-great-grandchildren, Bo and Jayden Orecchio, Jersey and Hollis Stipes, Locklin and Kate Wheeler, Pyper and Waylon Stipes, Hayze and Bexlee Hilty, Kingston, Titan and Creed Stipes, Madison Cramblett, Brady Barnett and Paisley and Brantly Barnett.

Along with his parents and first wife, Don is preceded in death by his sister Juanita and step-son, Keith Stipes in 2009.

A graveside service will be held on December 19, 2020 at 11:00 am at South Lawn Cemetery with Pastor Mark Brodbeck officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Don's name to the Coshocton County Honor Guard, Veterans Service Office, 318 Main Street, Coshocton, Ohio 43812.

Condolences to Don's wife Darlene and to his family and friends. We got to know Don after we purchased the first house that he built and lived in for over 40 years. Don was indeed a master craftsman who took pride in his work. We admire and appreciate his work on a daily basis. Anytime we had a question, Don was willing to give us whatever information he could. Rest in peace, Don.
