Linda Stroup Obituary

Linda Stroup

Coshocton - Linda Sue Stroup, age 69, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, December 29, 2018. She was born on January 24, 1949 to the late Jim and Beverly (Tumblin) Womer in Coshocton. She was married to Don Stroup for 39 years, until his passing. She was a 1967 graduate of Coshocton High School. She worked for many years as a receptionist for Dr. Honabarger and then for Dr. Salmans. She was also a receptionist for Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Her hobbies included gardening, trips to Amish Country, and playing cards with her friends. Linda was a devoted and loving mother. She was very proud of her family but nothing compared to the moment when she became a Nana. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren and she was there to support them in anything they were involved in. Linda is known for her feisty, yet good sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Linda is survived by and was the beloved mother of TJ (Becky) Chaney of Westerville, Shelley (Denny Rhoades) Chaney of Las Vegas, NV, and a devoted Nana to her grandchildren, Dalton (Taleah), Hannah, Simon and Jack Chaney; great-grandchild, Zaylah Chaney. Linda was a cherished sister of Karen (Mike) Kirkbride of Lexington, KY., Vicki (Ron) Loescher of Cleveland and Kevin (Aleesa) Womer of Newark and a dear aunt to lots of nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will gather for calling hours at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home on Thursday, January 3, 2019 from 5pm to 8pm. Linda's funeral service will be on Friday, January 4, 2019 at the funeral home at 1pm with an hour of calling hours prior. Reverend Ric Bonice will officiate the service as we celebrate her life. To Linda's family you are in our thoughts and prayers. Linda and I have been friends since we were four or five years old living side by side on Hay Avenue. We worked at The Freeze and graduated together class of 67. What a wonderful friend and classmate she was and I can only imagine how much she will be missed.
