Robert Minner Obituary
DRESDEN: Robert L. "Bob" Minner, 73, of Dresden, Ohio died Monday morning, March 25, 2013 in the emergency room of Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital, Zanesville, Ohio.
Born August 9, 1939 in Adamsville, Ohio he was a son of the late Etsel R. "Mike" and Leota C. (Gray) Minner and was a 1958 graduate of Dresden Jefferson High School. Mr. Minner retired from Stone Container of Coshocton after 30 years of service and he had also been an employee of the Longaberger Company and Steel Ceiling Company of Coshocton. Bob was a member of the Dresden Volunteer Fire Department for over 35 years and had served as Captain, was a truck driver and worked as a member of the emergency squad. He was a very avid Tri-Valley sports fan and worked the football sideline with the "Chain Gang" for many years. Always wanting to help others, Bob was generous to the end by donating his eyes to the Ohio Lions Eye Bank.
Surviving is his wife of over 51 years, Phyllis E. (Lacy) Minner whom he married November 19, 1961; a daughter and son in-law, Vicki and Clark Watson of Frazeysburg; two granddaughters, Emily and Hannah Watson; a brother Terry (June) Minner of Dresden; a sister, Sue Whiteus of Dresden and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Catherine Wiles and a nephew, Rick Wiles.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Thursday, March 28, 2013 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Friday, March 29, 2013 at the funeral home with the Rev. Greg Inboden officiating. Burial will be in Dresden Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Dresden Police Department "Cruiser Fund", Post Office Box 201, Dresden, Ohio 43821.
