Conroe resident, Joy Marlene Hooks Forrester, 83, passed away on Thursday, October 22nd after a long illness. Marlene was preceded in death by her parents Mary Rose and David Hutchinson of Katy, TX, sister, Jeanne Laurendeau of Cedar Park, TX and daughter Rhonda Hooks Prove of Smithville, TX.
Marlene is survived by her children Stephen Hooks and Kaye McDonald and husband Dave of Conroe. She was a devoted grandmother to her nine grandchildren, Casey Hooks, Joseph Hooks, Jodie Hooks, Jennifer Casteel, Tamara Hollen, Chana Huitt, Stad Tomlinson, Amy Jones and Heather Smith.
An avid ballroom dancer, Marlene enjoyed kicking up her heels at some of the Houston dance halls while living there in the 1970's.
Marlene also loved country and gospel music.
A longtime resident of Round Rock, TX, Marlene moved to Conroe several years ago to be closer to family.
Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service which will be held in Marlene's honor at: McNutt Funeral Home at 1703 Porter Rd. in Conroe, TX on Saturday November 7th at 10AM.
