I have some very wonderful memories of my Great Aunt Fern. From her trying to teach some of us how to draw and paint, her quilts, and the many things she crocheted. And her hugs were always the best. It's a privilege to be named after such a warm and loving Lady. Love you Aunt Fern!

Fern was such a talanted person. I enjoyed her so very much. She taught me a lot while we were enjoying the cut & Shoot art league. Her knowledge on so many subjects. I have been blessed to have her share all this with me. All that knew Fern were always the lucky ones..Art enjoyed his trains and was a great support of Fern in any thing they did. Although its been so long since I had the chance to visit with her I still miss her encourging words...Naomi Johnson.

On behalf of my mother and me, we want to extend our condolences to Fern's family. She was mom's friend and fellow art league member for many years. What a kind and gracious person she was! She and Art added such happiness and lively conversation to our lives. We often wondered how she was doing after she moved from Cut 'N Shoot. Now she is in Heaven and organizing lots of clubs and activities. Praise God.

Gosh, Its hard to believe its been so many years. The first time I met you, I said I didn't know Joe had a sister. You have always been so young, no matter the age. We have loved you and Art and had such a good time with you, going to see movies and eating in downtown Houston, playing croquet on Dockal St., playing cribbage, going bowling and just having a good time with our friends. Then you left to go take care of family members. I know they got perfect care and good meals. Too bad I didn't know you had been hurt or you would have had flowers sooner than you did. We have loved you for so many years and we will miss you. We are one of the lucky ones that has your paintings hanging on our wall and have a beautiful quilt that you made for us. I also have some of your wonderful recipes. We will miss you so much, but Art & Joe will be happy you are back with them. We love you lots!!!

My dear sweet precious darling, you have filled my heart with so much love. We have had such wonderful adventures together, from quilt show to quilt show and quilt shop to quilt shop. Sitting on my porch, solving the problems of the world. Preparing lovely meals together and sharing recipes. Thank you so much for sharing your loving Missouri family with me. I will always treasure you as my closest friend and I can never thank you enough for being my friend. I miss you! Love, Jody
