Melanie Lawyer Reeser, of Conroe, Texas went to be with the Lord, on April 23, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family. She courageously fought lung cancer for sixteen months but in the end lost the battle. Melanie was born on December 14, 1955 in Bryan, Texas and was preceded in death by her parents Franklin (Frank) and Elizabeth (Betty) Lawyer.

Melanie grew up in Houston, Texas and graduated from Spring Branch High School in 1974. She was a member of the first group of women to attend Texas A & M University, summer school at sea on the TS Texas Clipper. On that cruise, she met the love of her life, Chris. They married in 1976. While living and raising a family in Huntsville, Texas, Melanie finished her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art and graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1992 from Sam Houston State University.

Left to cherish countless memories of their life is her husband Captain George C. Reeser Jr. (Chris) of forty-three years.

She is survived by daughter Ashley E. Reeser; son Seth M. Reeser; sister, Leslie Crouch and husband, Ken Crouch; sister Kristin Reed and husband James Reed; brother Mont Lawyer; and granddaughter Samantha E. Reeser (Sammie).

Melanie was also close to Chris's family, his parents Captain George C. and Mary F. Reeser (deceased), brother-in-law, Robert (Bob) Reeser and wife Barbara Reeser; sister-in-law, Claudia Daigle who she loved as a sister and always enjoyed her company, and husband, Ronnie Daigle; sister-in-law Gail Jordan; and brother-in-law Robert Estes. The other survivors include many nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grand- nieces, friends, and other loved ones.

There will be a Celebration of Life, at Fellowship of Montgomery, 12681 FM 149, Montgomery, Texas 77316 on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at 1:00 PM. We invite her friends and loved ones to join her family to celebrate her life. The family ask that you dress in lively and respectful clothing and if you feel uncomfortable you may follow all protective protocols for Covid-19.

So sad to hear of the passing of such a lovely person. I always enjoyed visiting with her and Claudia when they came to my office together. My sincere condolences to those she leaves behind.
