I remember Ricky when we were young kids in junior high and high school. He had such a wonderful attitude and always giving it his best shot to get a smile out of you. I guess he was always wanting to get a laugh or a smile from you because I remember he had the most beautiful smile of anyone I ever knew and he wanted everyone to be happy. I had not seen Ricky or any of the Hanson family since 1971 but that doesn't mean we forgot him or any of his family. He crossed my mind many a time wondering where he was and hoping that all was going well. Ricky, I know the Lord called you home at such a young age to brighten up the smiles on everyones faces in the Lord's kingdom. Look forward to the opportunity when I can see you again in the sky above. -Mary Tanner Harrison

Today is one week since my Father passed away. I would like to thank everyone who kept us in their prayers. I can only imagine that is what gave us the strength to get through what was undoubtedly the most difficult week of my life. Thank you to friends and family who rallied around us in this time of need. Thank you for every hug, thank you for the shoulder to cry on and thank you for sharing your memories with us. To my Mom, my Husband, my brother and my best friend, I couldn't have made it through this without you all by my side. Most of all I am thankful for the many ‘strangers' who I met this week. They shared stories with us about how our Dad helped them in a time of need. He touched many lives. I feel lucky to have had a Dad who was such a good-hearted person. I will forever be grateful to those who gave us comfort when we needed it most.

I love you, Dad. I hope you know how much I love you.

Ricky,Mandy,Amy,Kelsey & Brooke I know you are going to miss your dad so much. Always try to think of the good times and all the funny things he would always do. I know he was always full of bull so to speak but if you knew Ricky then you already know this. He did have a lot of good points in his life. He loved all of you so very much. He was so proud of all of you. Ricky he would always talk about you being in the Navy. He was one proud Navy Dad. I know he will be missed by a lot of people. Just remember all the good times.Like he said in his letter.

Thank you Ricky for making me laugh so hard. I was blessed to have had you in my childhood. What fun we had at Grammy and Grandaddy's playing so hard from morning to dusk. Two little filthy kids full of laughter and joy no worries. I'm so grateful to have had you in my life. I wish I could have known you in our adulthood. My love goes out to Aunt Billie. Ronnie I know you have lost your best friend. May the family find peace in knowing Ricky is at peace and making the Angels laugh. Love and light to all the Hanson family. Love, Lisa Kay

To Ricky's Family
May God Bless you with peace and understanding of his passing.

I met Ricky when we went to Travis Jr.High. We were trying out for football,
Well you know Ricky he was going to find the biggest guy in the room just to prove a point,
We were paired against each other in a drills thru out the day I bet I ran over him a dozen times that day and every time he got up he would have something cocky to say and we would go at it again, at the end of that practice he walks up puts his hands on my pads and said don't worry I will take it easier on you tomorrow.
I was a foot and a half taller than he was but he would never quit. He had me laughing so hard you couldn't' help but like him and we were friends from then on.
Some would say we were the Kings of Edgewood Bowling Alley in our time, we were kind of always getting in mischief
of one sort or another.
We would run across each other every now and then we would go down memory lane and laugh like we were 13 again.
But as you grow older time goes by then you read about a friend in the news paper and you wish you could have visited one more time.
God Bless you Ricky

Your Friend
