Robert Foshee Obituary

Celebration of Life for Robert Lynn Foshee, Sr., beloved husband, father, and friend will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at 12:00 pm. at The Ark Church with Pastor John Fernandez officiating. Interment will follow in Conroe Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Robert will receive full military honors for his service in the Air Force.

Robert was born on October 5, 1941 in Provencal, Louisiana to Elbert J. and Maurine Foshee. He went to Heaven on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at home surrounded by family. Robert was 79 years old.

He moved to Winnfield as a small child and spent his life there until he graduated from high school. Robert still had many life-long friends from Winnfield. His class has a yearly reunion which he attended almost every year. After graduation, he joined the United States Air Force and served in Security Service. He said, "I grew up with these guys, we all became men together." They were still his dear and special friends. After all these years they get together yearly for a reunion in Myrtle Beach, SC. After the Air Force, he married and moved to Baton Rouge, La where he worked for Shell Oil and later in the finance industry. Robert got a promotion and transferred to Monroe, LA. After several years he attended College and graduated from Northeast Louisiana University, currently University of Louisiana-Monroe with an accounting degree. In Monroe, he worked in the finance and banking industry. After college he went to work for Georgia Pacific Corporation in Crossett, AR. One year later he went to work as the Forestry Accountant for Louisiana Pacific, a spin off from Georgia Pacific, located in Conroe, TX. His career with Louisiana Pacific spanned 20 plus years. Robert also worked for TDC, Texas Workforce Commission and Foshee and Associates CPA's.

Robert loved people and he was always willing to help. He loved God, his family, and his country. He was a loyal, trust-worthy, and never met a stranger. Robert loved to cook on the grill and have friends over to eat. He was an avid LSU Tigers and Houston Astros fan. He went to many Astro games and after he was sick, he watched the Tigers and the Astros on TV. Robert was the calm one, the rock we depended on. We will miss him and remember him every day of our lives.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Gary Foshee, Sr. and David Foshee, Sr.; and his sister, Cheryl Page.

He is survived by his loving family: wife of 55 years, Billie Ann Knight Foshee; son, Robert Foshee, Jr.; sisters-in-law, Sheila Foshee of Provencal, LA and Sharon Rollow of Hoschton, GA; Brother-in-law, Dave Rollow of Hoschton, GA.; nieces and nephews, Terry Ann Sims of Provencal, LA., Angela Womack of Provencal, LA., Christine Shifflett of Bossier City, LA., Amanda Foshee of Houston, TX, Cindy Hightower of Calvin, LA., Gary Foshee, Jr. of Provencal, LA., David Foshee, Jr. of Alexandria, LA., Danny Slayter of Winnfield, LA, Sammy Slayter of Arcadia, LA., Melissa Norris of Duluth, GA., and Shelley Keith of Bartlett, TN. I just learned of Robert’s passing. Sorry to hear of the loss. I didnt know him long but the short time I knew him working at TWC I knew him as an intelligent, kind, thoughtful and caring man. May God’s peace cover his family.
