Sharon began her professional journey at the First State Bank of Dimmitt where she met Richard Scott Blackmore Sr. On March 29, 1959, they were married in Dimmitt, Texas. Together they shared 52 wonderful years, raising four children and later rejoicing in the blessings of grandchildren and her great-granddaughter. Sharon was a devoted wife, a nurturing mother, and a proud grandmother whose heart was always centered on family.
A born entrepreneur, Sharon and Richard's first business venture together was raising and showing miniature Doberman Pinschers. Later, she owned Marrow's Nut House in Greenspoint Mall. In the early 80's she became The Manager of Spring Branch Savings & Loan. Her final position was with the Oak Ridge MUD, where she served faithfully until her retirement. Throughout Sharon's life her love of learning never waned. She continuously studied The Bible and lived her life as a true example for Christ. She was a wonderful role model to all who crossed her path. A creative and curious spirit, she found joy in continuing her education, taking several courses of interest. She also enjoyed organizing, and exploring artistic pursuits such as calligraphy, painting, & sewing.

She lived her life by the greatest commandment found in Matthew 22:36-40: to love God with all her heart and to love others as herself. Helping people was her passion, whether giving rides to appointments, donating to causes, or simply lending a listening ear. She often said, "I'm glad I had the opportunity to help."
