Shirley Maser Obituary
Shirley Ann Maser, 88, of Willis, TX, passed away peacefully at home on June 16, 2025, surrounded by love and compassion. Born on October 6, 1936, in Beverly, Massachusetts, she was the cherished daughter of Theodore James Doucette and Alice M. (Lawrence) Doucette.
She attended neighborhood schools in Beverly, graduating from Beverly High School in 1954. She then attended and was a proud graduate of Endicott College in Beverly, earning a degree in Merchandising. Shirley carried her sophisticated fashion sense and creativity throughout her life. She held several jobs after college before landing at Shell Oil Company in New York City. This is where Shirley met her husband of of 54 years, Warren H. Maser. Her warmth and wit were matched by her love for cooking and decorating -- two passions she shared freely with those lucky enough to enter her beautifully kept home or gather around her table.
After relocating to Spring, Texas in 1970, Shirley and Warren welcomed their only daughter, Lesley, in 1971. They became actively involved in her education and various athletic activities. They eventually retired on Lake Conroe in Willis, Texas where Shirley found great joy in her involvement with the Point Aquarius Garden Club and the North Shore Republican Woman's Club of Lake Conroe. She generously shared her time and talents with both clubs and formed many lasting friendships.
Shirley had a great love for travel and art. She and Warren took many trips throughout retirement, actively on the hunt for treasures to make her home more interesting. Destinations included Alaska, the Mediterranean, Australia, and Europe, but her favorite by far was China. The warmth of the people she met there was unlike any other.
Shirley was preceded in in death by her devoted husband Warren H. Maser in 2022 and her sister Geraldine L Doucette. She is survived by her loving daughter, Lesley, and her dear brother, Theodore J. Doucette of Pocasset, MA.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Nurse Jordan of Houston Hospice and caregiver Sanesha with Avid Home Care Solutions for their compassionate care and unwavering support during Shirley's final days.
Shirley will be remembered for her thoughtfulness and keen sense of humor. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
