Sylvia A. Price blessed this world with her compassion, love and joyous laughter for 71 years. On September 23rd, she joined her Heavenly Father and her husband, Micky, who she lost in 2019 after 39 years of marriage.
Sylvia was born November 3, 1953, to Luis and Alicia Pizaña in El Paso, Texas. She was the oldest of five children including Patricia, Maria, Luis Jr and Rosa. She grew up in Cuidad Juarez, Mexico, where she graduates from high school at the age of 16, specializing in accounting and bookkeeping. After securing her diploma, Sylvia worked at the local telephone company as a switchboard operator. She always dreamed about traveling around the world and after a few years of saving money, she was able to tour Europe with friends. The remarkable stories that she has shared about seeing the Colosseum in person, the beers she drank in Germany, the haunted hotel she stayed in or how one day she hoped to return to Paris and spend more time there. After her travels, she moved back in with her parents off of North Clark in El Paso. It was there at the beginning of their road that a Phillips 66 was located where Micky worked after returning from serving in the Army. After a few comments and discussion, she finally listened to her father who told her to go meet the attendant at the gas station. They had their first date on February 23, 1979, and were married exactly one year later.
After moving to Richmond, she had their first daughter Stephanie in 1981 and in 1986 Michelle joined to complete their family of four. Their careers at TDCJ had them experiencing all different parts of Texas with the family finally settling in 1997 in Conroe.
The Price family found their church community by joining Sacred Heart. Sylvia joined the Catholic daughters later in life after finding herself with spare time after losing Micky. She enjoyed the bond she had with other wives as they gave back to their community.
Sylvia retired after devoting 20 years to the State of Texas in several divisions of the prison system, including assistant to the Chaplin in Snyder, maintenance secretary in Sugarland and the Assistant to HR Director in Huntsville.
Not only did she enjoy spending time with her family including her six grandkids, but she thoroughly enjoyed taco Tuesdays with all her friends and their countless karaoke nights together. There's no telling how many miles she put on her golf cart running down for the neighborhood "safety meeting" by the lake.
Sylvia is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Micky.
She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie and her husband Steven Davis with their twin boys Hunter and Chase; daughter, Michelle and her husband Michael Cooper and their boys Mox, Mash, Maken and Modi. Sylvia will be missed by her siblings and countless nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her companion for the past 5 years David Driggers. Their families shared so many memories together since 1984.
Please join in celebrating her life and legacy by attending her visitation on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at Cashner Funeral Home in Conroe, Texas from 5:00pm to 8:00pm with a rosary being held at 7:00pm.
