Irene Ford, age 87, of Dover, passed into Glory Thursday, June 24, 2021, while in the presence of her family. The daughter of A.M. Standridge and Nelly (Daily) Standridge, she was born June 5, 1934, in Lurton. She married Harlin "Ray" Ford on June 5, 1954, after Harlin returned home from the Korean War.
She worked for ConAgra for 28 years before her retirement.
She was a member of the Scottsville Word of Life Assembly where she enjoyed attending church and worshiping. She also enjoyed Flowers and sewing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harlin Ray Ford; her parents; a daughter, Kathy Irene Campbell; a son-in-law, Robert Lee Campbell; five brothers; and one sister.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Gordon Ray Ford and Marianne Ford of Lincoln; daughter and son-in-law, Yvonne Woods and Arlis Woods of Jasper; daughter and son-in-law, Martha Criss and Danny Criss of Wesley; son and daughter-in-law, Andy Ford and Angel Ford of Dover; sister, Melinda Brown and Michael Brown of Russellville; sister, Kathleen Campbell of Russellville; sister, Maxine Bumgarner and Donnie Bumgarner of Danville; sister, Susie Tennison and Doyle Tennison of Pelsor; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; special friends and caretakers Brandy Jones and Dora Morgan; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family.
Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Humphrey Chapel.
Rev. Arnold Humphrey and Rev. Jimmy Turner will officiate.
Burial will be at Moore Cemetery in Ben Hur by Humphrey Funeral Service.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Robbie Campbell, Bradley Woods, Kyle Criss, Justin Criss, C.J. Ford and Burt Standridge. Honorary pallbearers are Irene's grandchildren.
