Jackie Haynes

Jackie Eugene Haynes, age 68, of Russellville, died Friday, March 21, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith. He was born October 9, 1956, in Mena to Jackie Warner and Shirley Ann McWilliams Haynes.

He was a graduate of Mena High School. Upon graduation he proudly served in the United States Navy for six years. He continued to stay in touch with many of his shipmates through the years.

Jackie worked as a Senior Reactor Operator at Arkansas Nuclear One until he transferred to the training department until his retirement. He attended Arkansas Tech University.

Jackie's daughter, Jessica, was the light of his life. He loved her with his whole being. He was devoted to his and his daughter's yardwork, which he loved doing. Jackie adored and loved his three grandchildren, Chandler, Mackenzie and Keaton (which he lovingly called No. 2).

He was a very quiet and private person but always showed his love for his family and was the best Papaw, Husband and Dad.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenny Wayne and Jerry Don Haynes.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Linda Collins Haynes; his daughter, Jessica (Crystal) Haynes; a son, Tres (Amanda) Herrington; three grandchildren, Chandler, Mackenzie and No. 2-Keaton Herrington; his loyal companion and sidekick, Rowdy; sister, Vicky Haynes Harbison of Hot Springs; a brother, Roger Haynes of Fayetteville; and many nephews and nieces on both sides of the family.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at the Shinn Chapel with Bro. Doug Hambrick officiating. The burial will be in Brearley Cemetery in Dardanelle under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m., until service time at the chapel.
