James Olan Beavers, 81, of Bay, AR (formerly of Hector, AR) passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital on March 29, 2024. He was born May 2, 1942 in Jerusalem, AR to Olan and Leone Beavers.
Jim was a retired auto mechanic. He enjoyed working outside and spending time with his family. Jim had a strong faith in Jesus Christ, reading his Bible daily and was a member of Highland Drive Baptist Church in Jonesboro.
He is preceded in death by; his parents, brother Tommy, nephew Tommy Lynn and two grandchildren, Justin Garrett Beavers and Anthony Dylan Guerrieri.
His legacy will live on with his wife of 53 years Carole; six children; Jimmy (Twila) Guerrieri of Clinton, AR, Johnny (Robin) Beavers of Appleton, AR, Chris (Tamara) Beavers of Dover, AR, Brian (Paula) Beavers of Brookland, AR, Angela (Shane) Hambright of Pottsville, AR, Michelle (Jeff) Weir of Bay, AR; one sister, Nelda (the late Stanley) Fastenau of Willard, MO; 16 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.
Visitation and memorial service will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Union Grove Church, 77 Union Grove Rd, Atkins, AR. Graveside service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Jerusalem, AR with Jeff Weir officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons; Kyle, Nicholas, Tony, Eric, Corey, Layne, Xander, Bradley and John Isaac will be honorary.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the James Beavers Funeral Fund at Thompson Funeral Home Fundafamily on the website or cash app $jimbeaversmemorial.
