Albert L. Oriente, Sr.

AGE: 92 • Southampton

Albert L. Oriente, Sr., 92, of the Leisuretowne section of Southampton, passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2011, surrounded by his family. Born in Argentina, Albert resided in Philadelphia most of his life before retiring to Long Beach Island, where he resided for over 20 years. He spent the last 7 years in Leisuretowne. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served during WWII. Music was Albert's passion, and played all over PA, NJ & NY. He was a hard worker who worked a day job besides his music career. He taught guitar lessons, and played for the Long Beach Island Symphony and the Eddie Shaw Orchestra, which were well know in Philadelphia and New Jersey. Husband of the late Lillian Oriente; he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Albert, Jr. and Susan Oriente of Southampton; his daughter and son-in-law, Loretta and Angelo Mimmo of Shamong; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Virgil and Jean Oriente, and Dante and Margaret Oriente; three grandchildren, Keith (Nicolle), Christopher (Lisa), and Daniel Oriente; three great grandchildren, Alicia, Samantha and Anabella Oriente; and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call on Saturday, August 6, 2011, from 10-11AM, at the Church of the Holy Eucharist, 520 Medford Lakes Rd., Tabernacle, (609) 268-8383. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM, at the church. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Albert's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, 399 Market St., Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA, 19106.
