Andrew L. Daggan, Sr.

AGE: 52 • formerly of Collingswood

Andrew L. (Andy) Daggan, Sr., of Gaithersburg/Damascus, Maryland, formerly of Collingswood, NJ, age 52, passed away on September 20, 2011 at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, after a very brief illness. He was surrounded by his wife, Carolyn, his children, Victoria (Tori) and Andrew Jr. (Drew), his father, Ralph N. of Haddonfield, NJ, his sister Carol and her husband, Ed Kirner of Chalfont, PA, his brother, Rick (Ralph) of Haddonfield, NJ, his stepchildren, Carl Marschall of Alexandria, VA, Lauren MacNeil of Baltimore, MD, and Brian. Others at his side were his father and mother-in-law, Jim and Anne Marschall of Sun City Hilton Head, SC and other relatives and friends. His brother John, and his wife, Jeanne, of Staten Island, NY, his sister-in-law, Sunny Daggan of Haddonfield, NJ, several nieces, nephews and many friends were spiritually with Andy throughout his illness.

At the time of his death, Andy was a partner in Crystal Concepts LLC. Andy loved the New York Yankees and anything of Frank Sinatra. He followed many sports and he enjoyed entertaining and gathering large groups at his home to enjoy his wit and charm. His fondness of Damascus High School, and of football in particular, led to his role of being the 'Voice of Damascus' at Friday night football games. For several years, Andy was heavily involved as a coach in girl's fast-pitch softball program, nurturing his daughter Tori as a player. Andy was predeceased by his mother, Nan Audrey Daggan (Keenan), in 2000. The family requests that memorial contributions be made in his name to the Damascus High School Booster Club.

The family will receive friends at the Molesworth-Williams P.A. Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus, MD on Friday, September 23, from 3-5 and 7-9 pm. A service will be held at Redeemer Lutheran, Damascus MD on Saturday, September 24 at 10:30am.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Daggan family. Andy was my friend beginning in James A Garfield School. We used to ham it up in Mrs. Wolf's play together. I shall never forget his wonderful spirit. Rest in peace my friend.

I had the privilege to be in the box with Andy at all of the regular Damascus High School football games for the last 4 years. I was the timer and enjoyed his company immensely He look forward to each game with an enthusiasm that was had to mimic. I remember his special announcement of my daughter when she would perform the fire baton routine at halftime. He was a great person to share a couple of hours of football with and will be sorely missed by the Damascus community. My prayers and thoughts are with Andy’s family. Tom Mullen

To the entire Daggan Family - I was so sad to hear the news. I was in Andy's class at Colls High, and shared many great times including all the plays and talent shows where he always shined the brightest. We laughed a lot, mainly because he had such a fabulous sense of humor. I hope all your memories will sustain you and keep Andy's memory alive. He was certainly a star, and I will always think fondly on our high school days. Love from all the Hill Family.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Andy's passing and pray that his family will find peace and solice in this sad time. I remember Andy fondly from high school in the plays and talent shows; and especially during the Bicentennial year, 1976. He was so talented and funny and made us all laugh. If the Lord in heaven wanted a great talent, he found him now in Andy. Rest in peace, friend!

Your family is in my prayers. Andy was such a fun guy to be around. He was always smiling and making people laugh in High School. Because he was such a great guy, we in Collingswood forgave his Yankee obsession. ;) I know he will be missed by all who knew him.

I was shock to hear this sad news. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Daggan family.
Although we hadn't seen each other since Collingswood High School, we would communicate every once in a while. Andy's bright smile was extremely contageous. He always made people laugh. I remember all of our crazy antics as if they just happened.
I will truly miss Andy. His passing is a great loss to us all. God Bless Andy.
