Fr. Sully,
I met you about 32 years ago when you were my pastor and when you were transfer from our parish, I started to work for you for almost 13 years. I loved your sermons which touch me deeply. Even at daily Mass, you would take a few sentences and make the point of the sermon stay with me all day. You were the guide for my journey in faith. Your example shined for me and even today, I can remember your insights as I try to share myself through our RCIA program - looking for the few thoughts which will light up the way.
I haven't seen you for a long time as
my life got busier and you retired, but you have been in my thoughts and prayers since I met you.
I know that you are in peace now with your God and that your suffering is over. You will live in my heart as Fr. Sully who I loved and admired.
May you soul and all the souls of the faithfully departed rest in peace. Amen.
God bless, Angela DeSilvio & Family

Father you were my sophomore year Honors Englsh teacher at Holy Spirit in the 1970s. You taught me to love literature and words. I still do and because of you use them daily in my profession. The Golden Bear with a hidden heart of gold. Thank you for opening my mind at such a young age. Rest in peace and know all the young people you helped never forgot you

Father Sullivan, I was a very young man when you taught me High School English.
I have come a long way on the road we all travel and you have completed, but we never forget the mark made on us by each other.
I was moved to write an English composition when I was told of your passing. It was meant to question the sadness we manifest at the end of life..... I guess I'm still trying the old English skills.
Peace in the Christ we all have held as best we could.
Hope in Death
Hope is a mere aspiration
In a life that would be more like stone
As we hold on too tight to the present
And relinquish the view of unknown;
Giving up what is our contemplation
For a life more of flesh and of bone,
We are lost in the day-to-day living
Leaving death in the end to atone.

Fr. Sullivan, Our family has great memories of you, starting at HSHS in the 70's and years later at St. James. You were so kind to my children and the best was attending your 10-minute morning weekday masses. We also loved your dry sense of humor. May you rest in peace!

Fr. Sullivan will stand out in my memory, forever...the Great Golden Bear of a man/loved priest. He was often a familiar face around Holy Spirit. back in the fond memories of my high school days, 1968--1971. He was funny, friendly, yet stern when needed, and all of us loved him most of all the administrators there at that time. I will never forget You, knowing you are resting in eternal peace, thanks for all you did, and my fondest memory of High School days..

Rest in peace Father Sullivan, the Lord will welcome you home after a long career of helping others. I will always remember you as the Dean of Discipline at Holy Spirit and never forget you giving me a second chance. Thank You!
I will always cherish the great talks that we had at Tilton Market in the past years and was glad that you knew that I was your friend no matter what was said. You have been responsible for saving countless teenagers from themselves and making sure they straightened out. You had fists of steel and a heart of gold. The World has lost a wonderful man and Heaven had gained a great soul
God Bless You,
Mary Sausto

To the Sullivan family,
The fond memories of Brendan will never be forgotten by all who knew and loved her. May the comfort from family and friends continue to strengthen you during this difficult time, and may you find comfort in the words found in the last book of the Holy Scriptures: "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away."
May the wonderful memories of your loved one continue to provide a measure of comfort to you--until God's promises for the future are fulfilled. 2 Peter 3:13

Fr. Sullivan,
May you rest in peace. We are glad that you are free of the pains and limitations that come with aging. May you now be aware of all of the wonderful ways in which your humor, insightfulness, thoughtfulness and acts of kindness touched our hearts and gave us the courage to accept ourselves and our lives with all of our successes and our failures, all of our strengths and our weaknesses. We look forward to meeting you again when our earthly journeys are ended.
I remember a time in the 1970’s when you were dealing with some hard things, and I (Loretta) wrote you these words to encourage you to journey on during the tough times in life and you agreed: To my friend and companion of the Way: . . . great truths do not interest the multitudes, and now that the world is in such confusion, even though I know the path, how can I guide? I know I cannot succeed and that trying to force results I shall merely add to the confusion. Isn’t it better to give up and stop striving? But then, if I do not strive, who will? -Chuang-Tzu
Thanks for striving. Help me to continue.
