RW Charles L."Cheese" Harrison, Jr.'s
Westampton - Work and live to serve others, to leave the world a little better than you found it and garner for yourself as much peace of mind as you can…." Masons come from all walks of Life. "Cheese" came from his family's farm in Willingboro and dedicated his life to serving others. He was committed to family and was part of a brotherhood that shared; values, a desire to have fun and build bonds that lasted a lifetime. During the very early hours of Friday February 23, 2018 RW Charles L. Harrison, Jr.'s labors were done. His journey's end had come and he was called to the Great Lodge on High by the Supreme Architect of the Universe. A new guide, now lead me on.
Cheese was born in Beverly and had been a lifetime area resident. He spent his formative years in Willingboro and had been, most recently, a resident of Westampton. Mr. Harrison was thoughtful of others and volunteered his time protecting them in the now defunct Rancocas Volunteer Fire Co. where he served as Chief. Cheese was very active. His thoughts and actions were based on values rather than personal gain. As a Mason he was engaged in ongoing personal growth. He was a longtime member and past Worshipful Master of the Burlington F&AM, Lodge #32 and had served as Chaplain and a past grand officer of the Grand Lodge of F&AM of NJ. He was a Member of the Beverly Maqueda Order of The Eastern Star #276 in Burlington. He had served as a past Worthy Patron and volunteered time at the Masonic Village in Burlington.
Mr. Harrison will be fondly remembered as a jokester who cheerfully loved life care free. He made his career as a supervisor at PSE&G in Trenton and enjoyed spending time duffing on the links as well as visiting the beaches of LBI with his family. Along with his wife He was a member of the NCT Camping Club Chapter 11 and enjoyed extensive traveling and camping in their 32' camper. But, nothing was better than spending an afternoon at home riding on the Farmall 140 Super A Tractor.
Cheese is the widower of his late wife Violet and is survived by his wife of 34 years, Eleanor (nee Duncan) Harrison. He is the father of Linda & her husband Mike Carrera, Sandy Johnston, Charles L., III. step-daughter Michele Jacks and the late step-son Michael Popp. Mr. Harrison is the proud grandfather of 9, great grandfather of 6 and is the brother of Imogene Tonneson.
Relatives, friends and neighbors are invited to join Mr. Harrison's family to remember Cheese, celebrate devotion to the cause of virtue and morality and pay tribute to a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother on Tuesday evening between 6:30 pm and 8:30 pm at the Burlington F&AM, Lodge #32 6 Terri Lane Burlington where an Order of the Eastern Star and Masonic memorial ceremonies will begin at 8:30 pm.
