David Woolard, 76, passed away surrounded by his family on October 16, 2013. He was born in Elgin, Illinois on April 24, 1937 to Peter and Thelma Woolard. He moved to Royal Oak, Michigan at a young age but returned to Elgin at 18. He married Carol Michaelis on September 19, 1958. He was the owner and operator of Classic Taping and Drywall for over 30 years. He married his second wife Karen on April 1st, 2000. He was an avid fisherman and a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife Karen; his son Jeff (Lynn) of Elgin; sister Barbara Duty of Virginia; brother Daniel (Bonnie) Woolard of Washington; granddaughters Kelsey (Andy) Smith, Kristi (Vanessa)and Kaira Woolard; stepdaughter Sara (Eric) Peterson; step grandchildren Dylan and Katy Peterson as well as many nieces and nephews. Preceded by his parents; his first wife Carol; daughter Tamara. A memorial service will be Saturday October 19 at 2 pm at Laird Funeral Home, West Dundee. Visitation will take place from 1 pm until the time of services. Interment will be private. Omission of flowers is requested, memorials may be to the charity of your choice.
