Donald Chew Obituary

Donald M. Chew

AGE: 78 • Washington Twp.

Donald M. Chew of Washington Township (formerly of Pennsauken) on November 16, 2012. Age 78 years.

Legacy

A good hearted and generous man, Don was the type of guy that would do anything for anyone, especially his loving wife, Helen and daughters. A perfect day for him would be with his family loaded in the car, using all of the back roads on one of his countless road trips he took. Born and raised in Camden, Don was proud to serve as a US Marine and was stationed in Hawaii for 3 years. As a younger man, Don enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time in the great outdoors. He never met a piece of candy he didn't like, but was partial to the types sold in theatres. Keeping up with current events, learning about history, especially military were things that Don was passionate about. Don retired from the DRPA in 1995.

Family

Beloved husband of the late Helen E. (nee Kerr); devoted father of Dana DiAmore, Kelly Chew and Merle Chew; dear brother of the late Robert; special uncle to many nieces and nephews

Dear Dana, Kelly, and Merle,

I am so sorry for the loss of Uncle Donald. I can't even begin to express how sad Janet and I are for you. Hannah and Trevor are also very upset. He was the closest thing to a grandfather they had. They have always so much appreciated the generosity the both your dad and mom had showed them over the years. I personally will miss his stories and humor and am sorry that I did not see him as much as I should have. He will be missed so very much.
