Emilia Purdy Obituary
Runnemede - Emilia "Emily" Purdy (nee Jurkovic) of Runnemede. July 31, 1928 to January 26, 2019. It is with great sadness that her family announces the sudden passing of Emily Purdy at the age of 90. Devoted mother of Pam Goetz (Joseph) and Scott Purdy (Marilyn). Loving grandmother of Kristen Goetz Stevens (Erik), Adriane Goetz, Christopher Goetz, Ryan Purdy (Amber), and Alyson Polidore (Michael) and great grandmother of Dane, Brooklyn, and soon to arrive great grandson Gianni. Dear sister of the late Victor Jurkovic (Catherine). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Emily worked for many years in the trucking industry. After her retirement, she went back to work for US Congressman Rob Andrews. Emily will be remembered warmly by family and friends, and all who crossed paths with this strong, independent, and generous woman. There will be a viewing from 7 to 9 Thursday evening and 8:15 to 9:15 Friday morning at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE. Funeral Mass will be held 10 am Friday at Holy Child Parish, St. Teresa RC Church, Runnemede. Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery, Blackwood. Although she loved flowers, donations may be made in her name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
