My heart is saddened to hear of Eric's passing. We had some great times marching back in the 70's and 80's. You were my best man and you also helped teach the Challengers Jr. guard. They later went on to become champions. I remember that you really cared about your mother and made sure she wanted for nothing. Eric, you were one of the "good guys" in life....someone that could be trusted to do the right thing. I will miss you bro.

I just found out about Eric. It has been a long time since I last saw Eric. I met him in the 70's thru drum corps. I marched with the Belles of St. Mary's and he marched with the Shadettes. Then onto Brookhaven with my cousin. So sorry for your loss.

Dear Herndon Family,
I was shocked to hear of Eric's passing. My sisters and I marched together in Shadette's and Brookhaven Crusaders. I graduated with Brian's wife, Georgia. I'm deeply sorry for your loss. I had just mailed a Brookhaven Crusaders reunion postcard the day before I heard. I'll keep you all in my prayers. My maiden name was Newell.

My heart goes out to the Herndon Family, My brothers Dave and Keith marched with The Herndon brothers in Brookhaven Crusaders. Eric will be missed dearly.

I remember a nice young kid who played the Contrabass in both the Shadettes and Brookhaven Crusaders. Big smile and big talent (and in those days, long hair!) It's been a long time, but the memories are fresh. Condolances to all who knew and loved Eric.
